Sampling has been around for ages—almost as long as those leftovers in your fridge (it’s time to throw those out, for real). For some reason—ahem, egos and pride—sampling and using loops get a bad rep. Haters will say it’s cheating and that you’re not a ‘real musician’ if you use samples.
But samples are tools, period. Other industries and professions use tools, right? Or is it alright if I book your next surgery with the doctor who only uses his hands?

130 people in America will commit suicide today (AFSP, Suicide statistics 2022). Let that sink in for a moment: 130 families will mourn the loss of a loved one lost to suicide today. Over 900 funerals will be planned this week with suicide listed as the cause of death. Nearly 4,000 lives will be extinguished due to suicide every month in America alone. There were 1.2 million suicide attempts in 2020. Of those, 25% were successful in their attempts. What does this mean for the other 75%? What could have saved the lives of the 45,000 that were lost to suicide?

Over the past two years, Audeobox NEXXT Beat Battles was conceptualized and brought to life. I have been honored to work so closely with them on the launch of NEXXT and continued success in Audeobox in various ways as their full-time copywriter.
